Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport

Botox, Xeomin, And Dysport

Ask somebody to name a cosmetic treatment, and there’s a good chance they’ll name Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport Neurotoxin Treatments. This is one of the most popular and well-known wrinkle reduction treatments in the industry, and for good reason.

Wrinkle Reduction Related to Facial Expressions

Our Better-than-Botox Neurotoxin Cosmetic Treatments (Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport) have helped many patients reduce the appearance of embarrassing wrinkles that form when making a facial expression. These are known as dynamic wrinkles. They are the result of facial muscle contractions that occur when making an expression, laughing, etc.

Do not confuse these with static wrinkles, though, which are the result of sun damage or a loss of collagen and other materials that occurs as we age. Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport are used for the treatment of dynamic wrinkles, while static wrinkles may require other forms of treatment such as dermal fillers or Laser Skin Rejuvenation.

What is our Botulinum Toxin A Cosmetic Treatment?

Our Better-than-Botox Neurotoxin Cosmetic Treatment is an injection treatment containing botulinum toxin type A. The treatment works by preventing the targeted muscle from receiving instructions from the brain informing it to contract.

The nerve transmissions are blocked by the Neurotoxin injection—which is made directly into the targeted muscle—so the muscle is unable to contract. Because the muscle is unable to contract, the wrinkle in question—such as crow’s feet, worry lines, and others—is unable to form.

You can see why the Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport Treatment is used to treat dynamic wrinkles, and not effective for the treatment of static wrinkles resulting from lack of collagen and other materials that we lose as we get older.

Our Botulinum Toxin A Cosmetic Treatment is Nearly Painless

A Better-than-Botox Neurotoxin Cosmetic Treatment injection is made using a small needle, which helps to reduce any discomfort as the injection is made. Anesthetic is often not required, but some pain may be present during the injection. This is bearable to most individuals who receive the treatment, though.

It is also helpful to discuss the treatment plan to get an idea of how many Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport injections are required per session to ensure that you receive the desired results. The session shouldn’t last more than 20 minutes, and afterward, you can go back to work and pick up with other activities as normal. It is important to avoid touching the face to ensure proper results.

Are Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport Treatments for You?

The Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport injections are not for everybody, however, and discussing whether you are a good candidate for these injectables is important. If you have neuromuscular problems, you may not be considered an ideal candidate for the injection.  You should also not receive the Better-than-Botox Neurotoxin Cosmetic Treatment if you are allergic to any of its contents, or if you are pregnant.

Side effects may include redness, itching, nausea, headache, eyelid droop, muscle weakness, pain around the injection area, and others. Rare side effects include flu-like symptoms, respiratory problems, and others you should discuss with Dr. David P. Suarez before receiving the Better-than-Botox Neurotoxin Cosmetic Treatment.

Expect a few days before the effects of the Better-than-Botox Neurotoxin Cosmetic Treatment are realized. Results should improve over the next several weeks. Most results last for several months. Repeat Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport injections are required after about six months, in order to maintain the results as previous injections begin to wear off. With time, the muscle may start to become less responsive and the wrinkle will diminish.

Ask about how long you should expect the results to last and about a maintenance program that will help you prevent the wrinkle from returning over time. Please use our contact us form or call us at (914) 704-4646 for more information.
